For my birthday this year, I had some banana chocolate chip walnut cupcakes with the yummiest buttercream icing. I wanted to recreate that taste and so I came up with this banana chocolate chip muffin recipe.

I have been loving these in the morning for breakfast and often as a quick snack. In this recipe, I use semi-sweet chocolate chips but you can swap it for dark or milk chocolate chips, whichever you prefer. Feel free to also add walnuts to this which makes it even yummier! I didn’t add them this time because my fiancé preferred them without nuts.

How to make banana chocolate chip muffins:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together with a hand mixer or by hand
  3. Mix in the very ripe mashed bananas, egg, and vanilla extract
  4. Add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until smooth
  5. Pour in your chocolate chips (feel free to add walnuts)
  6. Scoop batter into muffin cups and bake

For this batter my fiancé mixed this together with just a fork, that’s how easy it is. But you can definitely use a hand or stand mixer.

If you have a big family probably not long. 🙂

They can be stored for 2-3 days in an airtight container.
