Easy Chicken Taquitos Recipe (Flautas)
Chicken taquitos or flautas make for a yummy meal or appetizer. They are easier to make then you think and a great idea to spice up your taco night.
How to make this chicken taquitos recipe
The first step is to shred your chicken and then tightly roll them in corn tortillas or flour tortillas. After you have them all rolled up it’s time to fry them until golden brown. It may help to stick a toothpick in them while frying so they do not unroll.
Now that the taquitos are nice and fried, it’s time to top your chicken taquitos or flautas with cheese, radishes, lettuce, sour cream, onion, tomatoes, and some homemade salsa verde which is super easy to make.
Literally, you can top this with anything your heart desires and you’re all done! These chicken taquitos are ready to be served. You may also bake these in the oven instead of frying them. You can also choose to use beef or pork instead of chicken, taquitos are so versatile and easy to make.
Chicken Taquitos (Flautas)
- 2-3 cup shredded chicken
- corn tortillas
- oil for frying
- sour cream
- radishes sliced
- iceberg lettuce
- shredded cotija cheese
- salsa verde
- onion chopped
- adobo seasoning
- Shred your seasoned adobo chicken and roll them tightly in the tortillas
- Pour the oil in your pan and heat to 350° F. You can test it with a wooden spoon to see if it starts sizzling or with a piece of the tortilla. Fry until golden brown and then put them on paper towels to soak up the oil.
- Now top with salsa verde, cheese, lettuce, sour cream, pico de gallo, chopped tomatoes, radishes, anything you desire!
